Evaluation

Raise the Colours launched as a free-to-play game on October 31, 2025 and has been receiving consistent updates ever since. Since launch, the developer has shipped two character pack DLCs on November 5, 2025; feature patches in December 2025 (new maps, character select), February and March 2026 (new characters, multiplayer stability overhaul), and April 2026 (two new maps, performance improvements); a major update on May 1, 2026 adding flag customization and eight cosmetic hat DLC packs; Steam achievements on May 5, 2026; a major update on June 23, 2026 adding a vastly expanded flag roster, flags visible on character models, first-person mode, and new Council Worker appearances; and a patch on August 26, 2026 fixing achievement issues after a significant engine migration. The August 26, 2026 developer post — the most recent communication — is especially informative. The developer confirms the project survived a "fatal engine crash" that required migrating to a newer version of Unreal Engine, and explicitly states: "I'm planning another major update for the near future." This is a direct statement of intent to continue development. The developer also reaffirms the game will remain free and that DLC remains purely optional cosmetic support. All ten DLC items currently listed are released, but the developer's own words make clear the game is not finished. The update cadence — roughly one meaningful release every one to two months since launch — has been consistent, and the developer has given no indication that this will stop.

About this game

Grab your friends, grab a flag, and try not to fall flat on your face! Raise the Colours is a satirical 4-player co-op physics game where your only mission is to fly as many flags as possible before the clock runs out.

Easy… until the local council shows up to shut you down.

Expect complete mayhem as you stumble, trip, and collide with each other in a desperate scramble to get those colours flying. The more you cooperate, the smoother it goes… but when has cooperation ever worked?

Features:

  • 4-player chaos – online multiplayer madness.

  • Physics-driven slapstick – carrying flags has never been harder (or funnier).

  • Not Allowed! – cones, barriers, and local council officials determined to ruin your fun.

  • Satirical pastiche – a tongue-in-cheek party game that doesn’t take itself seriously.

It’s dumb, it’s chaotic, it’s about raising flags against all odds. Raise the Colours is just a meme — play it for laughs, not for meaning.
