Evaluation
Reach for the Sun launched on November 7, 2013 and received two patches in quick succession after release. Version 1.1 shipped on November 18, 2013 with gameplay and balance refinements. Version 1.2 shipped on December 18, 2013, adding a new plant (the prickly pear cactus), a strategy mode, and an overhauled pollination system with bees. The store description prominently highlights Version 1.2 as the current state of the game, and all features teased in the Version 1.1 patch notes as "coming in 1.2" were delivered in that update. The only other developer post (August 4, 2014) was an announcement for a separate game — Crazy Plant Shop — with no mention of further updates to Reach for the Sun. There have been no developer communications about this game since August 2014, no unreleased DLC, no roadmap, and no announced future content. The game launched as a small, self-contained educational simulation and has received no updates in over a decade. It shipped as a complete product.
Evidence
Version 1.2 shipped, delivering all features previewed in the 1.1 patch notes: new prickly pear cactus plant, strategy mode, and bee-based pollination system.
Version 1.1 patch shipped with gameplay fixes; developer previewed Version 1.2 features as 'unreleased' — all of which were subsequently delivered in the December 2013 update.

About this game
Version 1.2 Out Now!

- Strategy mode is now available on the plant selection screen
This mode uses a set number of turns with no time limit. Plants will automatically collect resources between turns. Keep your plant balanced and try to maximize your resources on every turn to fruit each flower before winter comes! - Players can now grow the prickly pear cactus
Cacti like the prickly pear have no leaves. Photosynthesis takes place in enlarged stems, requiring a slightly different approach to growing. - Bees!
We’ve added bees to replace the current pollen system. Creating nectar will now spawn a bee. Players must click and drag the bee onto a female flower to pollinate.
