Evaluation
REAL WEB LEGENDS: Carter's Quest is a solo-developed Early Access action-RPG that launched on August 2, 2024. The game currently contains Act 1, and the developer (Goba) has been consistently building toward Act 2 as the game's next major chapter.
Since launch, the game has received substantial content updates. The "Launch²" update on November 20, 2024 was a comprehensive rework of Act 1's middle section, adding new mechanics, dungeons, cutscenes, and characters. A Winter Content Update on December 27, 2024 added two new mini-dungeons and a new weapon. Feature patches followed throughout 2025, including a full camera and combat rework in March 2025 and high refresh rate support in September 2025.
The developer has communicated openly and regularly about Act 2's progress. In February 2026, Goba shared early screenshots of new dungeons, enemies, and systems. In March 2026, they posted preview footage of Act 2 — new character visuals, abilities, and a new ally — and set a tentative May 2026 target while explicitly declining to give a hard date to avoid crunch. That window was missed, but on June 24, 2026, Goba posted the most recent update confirming Act 2 is still in development and that they are "wrapping up the finale and loose ends." They are still aiming for summer 2026, but will only announce a firm release date once the update has gone gold.
The developer has been transparent about delays throughout the project's history and continues to communicate actively. Act 2 remains unfinished but in progress, and the game is clearly still an Early Access title with more content on the way.
Evidence
Developer confirms Act 2 is still in development, wrapping up the finale and loose ends. Missed the May 2026 target but still aiming for summer 2026. Will not announce a release window until the update has gone gold.
Developer shared extensive Act 2 preview footage — new character model, new abilities, a new companion, and visual effects. Announced a tentative May 2026 target without a hard date.
