RedEx launched on November 26, 2020 as a complete 2D shooter with tower defense mechanics. Following launch, the developer shipped two feature patches in quick succession: Patch 1.0.1 on November 29, 2020 and Update 1.1 on January 27, 2021, both containing gameplay improvements and fixes. After January 2021, the game went quiet for over four years until Update 1.2 on March 12, 2025, which added gamepad support and quality-of-life improvements. That same post mentioned a "big surprise" in preparation, but no follow-up announcement or release has materialized since March 12, 2025 — over 15 months ago as of today (June 16, 2026). With no major content expansions in the game's entire history, no named DLC, no roadmap, and no further communication after that single teaser line, the "big surprise" does not rise to the level of a concrete, developer-confirmed content commitment. The game's store page describes it as a complete package with no mention of planned additions. RedEx launched as a finished product and has received only maintenance and polish updates across its lifetime.
