Restaurats launched on November 7, 2025 as a full release. From the very beginning, the developer was clear this was only the start: their launch post stated "the release is only halfway through the journey" and referenced a published roadmap with three major upcoming updates. Pre-launch announcements also explicitly promised ongoing free updates and DLC post-launch. Since release, the game has received a steady stream of updates. A feature patch arrived on November 17, 2025, followed by a large Christmas Major Update on December 17, 2025. In February 2026, a Lunar New Year patch shipped alongside a developer update confirming that "automation minions" (raccoon helpers) were in final development, with a new boss ("Too Hungry Big Boss") planned after that. The raccoon helpers major update arrived on March 19, 2026, and follow-up bug fix patches landed on April 2, 2026. Most recently, on May 21, 2026, the developer announced that Restaurats is coming to PlayStation and Xbox "this summer," with porting nearly complete. The February 2026 developer post also explicitly confirmed the Too Hungry Big Boss update is still coming in a future update. All three released DLC items are cosmetic/supporter packs that shipped at or near launch — the ongoing content pipeline consists of free major updates rather than paid DLC. The game is clearly in active post-launch development with both announced future content (the boss update, console release) and a demonstrated cadence of major updates roughly every 1–3 months since launch.
