Revenant

Revenant is a free-to-play demo released on March 29, 2023 as a graduation project by MAYFLY. The store page is explicit that this is a demo version, described as a college graduation project shipped as a finished showcase piece. A hard mode patch was planned and discussed in November 2023, but developer communications since then have shifted focus entirely toward a sequel rather than continued updates to this original demo. By February 2024, the developer confirmed they were continuing work on the "Revenant" project more broadly. By October 2024, they were describing a full-version reboot in development. By March 2025, they announced significant gameplay changes being made in the new version. Then on July 25, 2025, MAYFLY announced that the store page for "Project Revenant" — an official sequel and remake-style follow-up to this demo — is now live on Steam. This makes clear that the original Revenant demo on Steam is effectively complete as it stands. All ongoing development energy has been redirected into the sequel, Project Revenant, which is a separate Steam listing. The original demo was a self-contained graduation project that served as the foundation for what became a full commercial follow-up. No updates to this original listing have been announced since the sequel's store page went live.
