RICO launched on March 14, 2019 and received a modest but consistent post-launch support cycle. Ground Shatter shipped two feature patches in 2019 — one adding bomb timer adjustments in May and a larger Autumn Update in October that introduced Hardcore Case Mode and Challenge Mode. The sole DLC, RICO: Breakout, launched on March 12, 2020, adding a new prison environment, weapons, and a free in-game soundtrack for all players. A final bug fix patch followed on May 11, 2020. There has been no developer communication of any kind since May 2020. The store description explicitly notes that online servers were disabled in early 2024, which confirms the game is no longer being actively maintained. With one DLC released, no unreleased DLC listed, no roadmap or future content announcements, and over six years of silence from the developer, the game is complete. The online server shutdown further signals that even live infrastructure support has ended. RICO shipped as a finished product whose full content lifecycle — including its one DLC — concluded in May 2020.
