Rift Loopers

Rift Loopers launched into Early Access on September 22, 2022 and graduated to its 1.0 full release on April 26, 2023. At launch, the developer confirmed plans for continued post-release content including new enemies, bosses, powerups, and a new character. The Pyro Class DLC shipped on May 29, 2023, and a feature patch in November 2023 added multiple new class abilities while mentioning plans to bring the game to Xbox the following year. The June 2023 patch announced an "Operations" game mode — a new objective-based story mission type — described as "coming this fall." However, no subsequent news post confirms this mode ever shipped, and the next post after that announcement (November 2023) makes no mention of it. The most recent developer communication, the Summer Patch on August 3, 2024, notes that the team had "shifted focus on other titles" and describes the update as a "quality pass" — a tone that reads as wrapping up rather than ramping up. There have been no posts since August 3, 2024, a silence of nearly 11 months as of today (June 21, 2026). The announced "Operations" mode from June 2023 is the one potential outstanding commitment. However, given that: (1) it was never mentioned again in any subsequent post; (2) the developer's August 2024 post explicitly stated they had shifted focus to other titles; and (3) there has been no communication whatsoever since August 3, 2024 — it is most reasonable to interpret the Operations announcement as a plan that was quietly shelved rather than ongoing work still in progress. The developer's own statement about shifting focus to other titles serves as a soft signal that active development on Rift Loopers has wound down. All DLC is released, the update cadence ended with the August 2024 quality pass, and no new content has been signaled since.
