Evaluation
Rise of the Triad (2013) launched on July 31, 2013 and received a series of post-launch updates. The development team shipped two major content updates: v1.4 on April 3, 2014 (which added a new weapon and six community maps) and v1.5 on October 3, 2014 (which introduced Steam Workshop support). A feature patch, v1.5.5, followed on May 23, 2015, adding Steam Workshop and GOG Galaxy crossplay. That May 2015 patch appears to be the last substantive update to this version of the game, and the only DLC ever released — the official soundtrack — shipped on July 27, 2015. There are no unreleased DLC entries on the store listing.
It is also worth noting that the store page itself explicitly directs players to a separate product: "For the 2023 remaster, please see the Ludicrous Edition store page." A 30th anniversary post from February 17, 2025 celebrated the franchise's milestone and announced a new bundle combining all three ROTT releases, but contained no announcements of new content for the 2013 version specifically. All ongoing development energy has clearly moved to the Ludicrous Edition remaster.
This 2013 version of the game is a complete, finished product. No further content has been announced for it, and the developer's own store description redirects players interested in continued development to the newer release.
Evidence
v1.5 launched with Steam Workshop integration, described as a major update for the game.
v1.4 launched with a new weapon (the DOOMSTICK) and six new community maps.
