Riven (2024 remake) launched on June 25, 2024 as a ground-up rebuild of the classic 1997 puzzle adventure. Both DLC items — The Art of Riven and The Riven Companion — are a digital art book and companion guide that shipped on launch day alongside the base game. There are no unreleased DLC items on the store. The most significant new developer communication since the previous evaluation is a July 16, 2026 post titled "Patch 1.9.0 and future support updates for Riven." In it, Cyan Worlds celebrated the game's two-year anniversary and discussed a potential future engine upgrade from Unreal Engine 5.3.2 to 5.8, weighing the technical trade-offs involved. Critically, this post contains no announcement of new gameplay content, story expansions, or DLC — it is entirely focused on maintenance and platform compatibility considerations. The devlog explicitly frames the engine upgrade as uncertain ("when or if we do end up releasing a 5.8 version") and does not constitute a content commitment. Post-launch activity has consisted entirely of technical and polish patches: ray tracing support added in April 2025, DLSS and supersampling improvements, controller and VR fixes, art and lighting polish, and platform support work.
