Robber Knight

Robber Knight is a two-person indie RPG/strategy game that has been in Early Access since July 22, 2022. The game has undergone major evolution during Early Access, including a full engine migration from Unreal 4 to Unreal 5 and a substantial gameplay overhaul in October 2024 (version 0.8), which the developer described as essentially a new game built from community feedback. On July 22, 2026 — the game's fourth anniversary and the most recent developer communication — the developer posted a detailed update confirming the game is "finally nearing the finish line," estimating 1–3 months until a public playable release. The plan is to first release version 0.9995, described as feature-complete and still in Early Access, to collect final bug reports and community feedback. After addressing those, the team will proceed to the full 1.0 launch. Content coming with that release includes a bigger map, new quests, new villages to conquer, new armor, new weapons, a new modular building system, horses, fully functional co-op, and additional surprises. Looking further ahead, the developer explicitly stated plans to "support the game for a long time after launch with both free and paid DLCs." This announcement follows a consistent stream of developer communications: an April 2026 update describing final polish work (100+ new crests, 100+ new weapons, reworked character skill trees with 132 special skills), a November 2025 update targeting a first-half 2026 1.0 release, and a September 2025 update detailing custom castle assets, directional combat, and AI improvements. The developer has maintained regular monthly communications throughout the game's life and has repeatedly committed that the project will be finished regardless of the challenges involved. Development is clearly active and on track.
