Rogue Reaper launched as a free-to-play game on February 1, 2019, built by a student team in 11 weeks. After launch, the developer shipped two patches in early February 2019 addressing bugs and polish. On July 19, 2019, the developer published their final post, which delivered patch v1.2.0 and announced that the studio's next project would be a sequel called Rogue Reaper: Awakening — explicitly framing it as a separate, new game rather than additional content for this one. The store description itself notes this is "the first part of the vision," consistent with the game being a self-contained first installment. There have been no developer communications of any kind since July 19, 2019 — nearly seven years of silence. No DLC has ever been listed, no roadmap was published for this title, and no post-launch content was announced beyond the sequel game. The game shipped as a complete, standalone experience and has received no content updates since that final patch.

Rogue Reaper is an action-adventure game in which you will utilize mobility, attacks and moving objects around to get through small scenario's consisting of obstacles and enemies. Because of your limited energy, you will have to be careful in your approach. Along the road you will explore a town in which you will fight against manifestations of the plague.
