Rule No. 1 launched into full release on July 8, 2021, graduating from Early Access with a substantial content update. It received one additional major update (Update 1.5) on April 5, 2022, which added new game modes, a weapon, and various improvements. After that April 2022 update, the developer's attention shifted toward a sequel — the Update 1.5 post explicitly signs off with "Now back to work on Rule No. 2!" The only developer communication since then is a May 12, 2026 announcement promoting the wishlist for Rule No. 3 Downpour, a separate game in the series. This confirms the studio is actively working on new entries in the franchise rather than continuing to update Rule No. 1. The single released DLC is a soundtrack that shipped alongside the 1.0 launch. There are no unreleased DLC entries, no announced future content for this game, and no post-launch update pattern suggesting ongoing content development. The game launched and was updated as a complete, self-contained product.

Like a First Person Shooter version of 'Geometry Wars' and possibly the greatest 'warm-up' game ever created,
Rule number one is a fast-paced Arena-FPS with a dusting of Rogue-Lite, featuring a wisecracking, slightly-foul-mouthed, more-than-slightly-sexy heroine named Rule (voiced by KoolySmiley) who actually dates back to 2016 and has her own unreleased RPG that we hope to finish one day! (Looking at you -- sales!).
So come on! Relax, and put the hurt on a swarm of innumerable metal-bastards and their trusty monster sidekicks as you curse your way through failure after failure and eventually, onwards to victory -- and maybe a hi-score or two!
*Said heroine Irulan (Rule for short) has been known to cause moderate bouts of Euphoria in players and before you become one yourself it is highly recommended that you steel yourself for said good-feelings. Walk Without Rhythm Games is not responsible for any crushes that you may develop whilst playing Rule No. 1 and are thus absolved of any wrongdoing.
