Evaluation

Runehaven launched on April 20, 2026 as a 1.0 release from solo developer Cikoria Studio. The developer has been consistently active and communicative since launch, shipping updates at a regular pace. Shortly after launch on April 26, 2026, the developer confirmed ongoing focus on bug fixing, quality-of-life improvements, and new content in response to player feedback. On June 1, 2026, version 1.1 shipped as a meaningful content update, adding a new boss battle, ring and amulet item types, nine new items, and procedural underground ravines. On July 1, 2026, the developer published a detailed 2026 roadmap explicitly listing features still in development: multiplayer co-op with a character creator, expanded Steam Workshop modding support, language translations, magic system improvements, more biomes and world variety, additional weapons and items, a sandbox mode, and quests. Most recently, on September 6, 2026, the developer launched a multiplayer beta test branch — directly delivering on the roadmap's primary commitment. The post also confirms that additional work is ongoing, including an in-game chat, optimizations, and more character customization options. The remaining roadmap items (modding expansion, translations, magic improvements, new biomes, sandbox mode, quests) have not yet been announced as shipped, indicating substantial planned content is still in progress.
