Scarlet Tower

Scarlet Tower launched into Early Access and graduated to its full 1.0 release on March 25, 2024. During Early Access, the game received substantial updates including the major "Bloody Gates" update (October 29, 2023) and the v0.9.9 Endless Mode update (December 21, 2023). After the 1.0 launch, the developer ran a community vote to decide the game's future direction — the options were smaller monthly updates, a paid DLC expansion, or a sequel. The community voted for a DLC approach, which the developer announced on April 13, 2024. The announced DLC, "Ashen Nightmare," was ultimately delivered as a massive free update (Version 2.0.0) on November 19, 2024. In that post, the developer explicitly described this as delivering a "full version of Scarlet Tower," framing the update as the completion of their content commitment to the 150,000+ players who had purchased the game. All planned content from the DLC announcement — new heroes (Amelia and Crowley), new maps (Holy Islands and Ashen Woods), new enemies, bosses, a Blacksmith system, new game mode, and more — was included in this update. The only DLC listed on the store is a Soundtrack, which released on May 5, 2026, and is not a content expansion. Since the Version 2.0.0 "Ashen Nightmare" update, developer communications have been limited to a bug-fix patch (Version 2.0.4, November 21, 2024). No future content, roadmap, or expansion has been announced. The developer has not signaled any ongoing content development plans following the delivery of the "full version" they described in November 2024.
