Secret World Legends launched on July 31, 2017 as a free-to-play shared-world action RPG. After launch, the game received a steady stream of post-launch content: new missions were added in August 2018, the Dark Agartha endgame mode launched in November 2018, and seasonal events and feature patches continued through 2019 and into 2020. The last major content update was the Dungeon and Raid Rebalance on October 1, 2020 — described by the team as "one of the biggest updates for Secret World Legends EVER."
