Sector Six

Sector Six launched on Steam on September 7, 2018 and received its final content update on March 24, 2019. The developer explicitly announced in February 2019 that this would be "the last content update," and the March 24, 2019 post was titled accordingly. That update delivered the Altered Parts system, Final Ascension, item sorting, and "The Signal" — an in-game teaser for a sequel — and the developer closed the post with "Nothing much besides localization updates and glitch fixes — if they will be needed," confirming no further content was planned. Since then, the developer has continued to provide occasional quality-of-life and maintenance patches (January 2023, April 2024) and minor communication (May 2025), consistent with the "support updates only" commitment made at the time of the final content update. In April 2024, the developer mentioned plans for a possible content update to celebrate the game's 6-year Steam anniversary in September 2024, and also discussed a planned sequel/reboot called "Perfect Shrapnel Zero." However, no such anniversary update has appeared in the post history, and no sequel has been announced as a concrete release. The developer noted their time for Sector Six is "extremely limited" due to work on other projects. The game is complete as a content experience. All DLC (the soundtrack) has been released. The developer's post-2019 activity has been purely maintenance and community engagement, with no new content having shipped since the explicitly labeled final update.
