Sentinels of the Multiverse launched in December 2014 and received a steady stream of DLC expansions and updates over the years, concluding with the OblivAeon mega-expansion in March 2019 — explicitly billed as the final boss battle that ends the Multiverse storyline. On October 26, 2023, the developer published a post alongside the Version 4.1 update that stated plainly: "As of today, the Sentinels Digital (Enhanced Edition) journey we began with you in October 2014, nine years ago, is complete! While there may be no further official content released for Sentinels Digital, the game is by no means 'dead.'" This is a direct developer statement that the content cycle for this game is finished. All 23 DLC items listed on the store are marked as released, with no unreleased content remaining. Subsequent updates (versions 4.1.2 and 4.1.3) have been purely maintenance patches — bug fixes and a security update — consistent with the developer's stated position that the game is content-complete. The developer has also been working on a separate sequel title (Sentinels of the Multiverse 2), which after a period of uncertainty caused by the dissolution of their collaborating studio in April 2025, resumed active development in February 2026 and is expected to ship in calendar 2026. That sequel is a separate product and does not affect the completion status of this original game.
