The developer explicitly stated in the August 30, 2025 update post that SFD had already stopped receiving updates in favor of their next game, Crawl Tactics, and that the 3.0 update — which added a new mode, a new character class, and UI improvements — "will likely be the final update for SFD." This is a clear developer statement that content development for SFD is complete. The May 13, 2026 announcement confirming the mobile release of Crawl Tactics (the successor to SFD) further reinforces that the developer's focus has moved entirely away from SFD. No future content for SFD has been announced or hinted at following the 3.0 update.
