Shoot 1UP DX originally launched on September 23, 2015. On June 17, 2024, the developer released a significant free update — the "DX" content — adding two new levels, branching level structure, new enemies, new bosses, and a 4K/60fps remaster. This update was delivered as a free gift to existing owners and served as a celebration of the developer's announcement of their next game, ChainStaff. The April 11, 2026 developer post confirms ChainStaff has now launched, and while the developer mentioned hopes to release "some free updates" for ChainStaff specifically, there are no announcements of any further content planned for Shoot 1UP DX. The single released DLC is a soundtrack pack from November 2015, and no unreleased DLC is listed on the store. The developer's attention has clearly moved on to ChainStaff as their active project. The June 17, 2024 DX update appears to represent the final content addition to this game.
