Shot In The Dark

Shot In The Dark entered Steam Early Access on June 10, 2015 as a paid multiplayer arena shooter. In October 2015, the developer posted that development was on hold due to financial constraints, explaining they were diverting effort to another game ("Suits: A Business RPG") to fund continued work on Shot In The Dark. On December 10, 2015, the developer published what appeared to be a milestone update (V 1.0), announcing that the game would soon exit Early Access and become free-to-play. They stated this was not the end of development — they explicitly promised additional maps and ongoing free content updates going forward. However, as of June 27, 2026, the game is still marked as Early Access on Steam, still listed as a paid product, and there have been no developer communications of any kind since December 10, 2015 — over ten years of complete silence. The promised transition out of Early Access never happened, the free-to-play switch never occurred, and no additional maps or content updates were ever delivered. The developer's own roadmap commitments from 2015 remain unfulfilled with no explanation provided.
