Shovel Knight Dig launched on September 23, 2022 and received two major free content updates after launch. The first, Fate & Fortune, arrived on March 17, 2023, adding Knightmare Mode, new characters, mementos, and quality-of-life improvements. The second and final update, Wicked Wishes, released on May 15, 2025, adding the Guild Hall quest system, new bosses, relics, minigames, and music tracks. The developer was unambiguous about what Wicked Wishes represents: both the July 2024 announcement post and the May 15, 2025 release notes explicitly state that "Wicked Wishes marks the completion of 'Shovel Knight Dig,' a project that has been shaping up since 2018." The April 30, 2025 announcement also described Wicked Wishes as "this final update" and called the result "the definitive version of Shovel Knight Dig." A hotfix (version 2.0.2) shipped on May 16, 2025 to address a post-launch bug, but no further content has been announced since. The developers have clearly and directly stated that the game is now complete. There is no unshipped DLC, no roadmap pointing to future content, and no ongoing development signals beyond routine maintenance.
