Easy Day Studios has consistently added new maps, gameplay features, and curated community content across multiple years. Major milestones include the 1.1 Mod Browser integration update (December 24, 2020), Multiplayer Free Skate launch (August 6, 2021), a significant gameplay overhaul expanding grab mechanics (August 30, 2023), and community maps Trinity (February 14, 2025) and Penzance Promenade (March 14, 2025). A January 23, 2025 post highlighted several community maps added to the in-game Mod Browser between October and December 2024, and noted new gear items are added monthly — indicating an ongoing content delivery commitment with no announced end.
The most recent official developer communication is dated March 14, 2025. Against their historical pattern of multiple major content drops per year, the gap between March 2025 and today (October 8, 2026) — roughly 19 months — is notable. Freedom Of Expression - Skater XL’s physics-based controls don’t have any pre-programmed tricks - only the movement through the thumbsticks. Each thumbstick is connected to the corresponding foot of the skater and as the player moves the stick, the board instantly responds.
