Evaluation

Slimekeep launched on April 7, 2025. Since launch, solo developer BenBonk shipped a series of updates in rapid succession through June 23, 2025: multiple feature and balance patches in April, a major Challenge Mode rework plus OST release on June 2, 2025 (V1.1), and full controller support on June 23, 2025 (V1.11). That last post is the most recent developer communication on record. In the June 2, 2025 post, the developer noted that controller support was the next planned item and that a break from active development was coming: "I will also likely be taking a break from active development sometime in the near future." Controller support then shipped on June 23, 2025 — fulfilling that stated next goal. No further content commitments or roadmap items were communicated after that point. The only DLC listed is the Slimekeep Soundtrack, which is released. There are no unreleased DLC entries and no announced future content. As of October 1, 2026, the last developer communication was on June 23, 2025 — over 15 months ago. The developer's own post-launch update cadence ran from April 9 to June 23, 2025 (roughly 11 weeks of active work). The stated plan to take a break, combined with the completion of the controller support goal and over 15 months of silence since, indicates that the planned post-launch update phase has concluded. The game launched as a complete product and received a concentrated burst of post-launch polish; that work appears finished.
Evidence
Controller support shipped in V1.11 — the goal flagged as next in the June 2 post. This is the last developer communication on record, with no mention of further planned content.

About this game

Slimekeep is a fast paced action roguelike with a heavy emphasis on decision making and player freedom. Adventure through procedurally generated levels, in a quest to stop the spread of corruption created by the Slime King. You'll have the choice to fight or capture slimes, visit the Slime King's lair, or hold off another day, and so much more. Think Enter the Gungeon meets Slime Rancher, with additional unique mechanics, and elements.

  • Unique Combat:

In Slimekeep, every slime will grow over time. You can decide between letting slimes grow for more resources, at the cost of them becoming more powerful. Or, if you'd like, kill off the slimes early, providing less resources, but making for an easier, and less risky fight. All of this with an array of over 80 unique weapons and upgrades.

  • Slime Pet:

If you'd like to take a more passive route to combat, you can capture slimes with a specially crafted capture gun, capable of extracting essence out of slimes, which can be used to upgrade your slime pet. Choose one, or many paths to build your slime pet around, from brute to assassin to specialty. Craft your slime pet to transform from a simple helper to a full-blown slime destroying machine.

  • Bosses:

Slimekeep contains a cast of 5 unique bosses. Battle against mechs, samurais, or DJs. Each boss is carefully crafted with unique art, animations, attacks, and gimmicks to create a real challenge. And to beat the game, all you have to do is defeat the dreaded slime king, in which you can visit at any time. Sounds simple, right?

  • GREEN (but don't worry the graphics are customizable!)
