Slipstream: Rogue Space launched on February 12, 2024 as a free-to-play multiplayer roguelike. From launch through October 25, 2024, the developer (Subpixel Studios) maintained a consistent monthly update cadence, shipping feature-rich patches every 4–8 weeks. These updates introduced new crew classes (e.g., the Koala medic in September 2024), officer role systems, Twitch Drops campaigns with future campaigns explicitly promised, a premium cosmetic shop with ongoing outfit releases, daily challenge runs, and seasonal limited-time items. The game is clearly structured as an ongoing live service: it is free-to-play, monetized through a rotating cosmetic shop and purchasable currency, and built around Twitch integration with recurring Drops campaigns. However, after the October 25, 2024 patch, all developer communication stopped. The previously reliable monthly update rhythm has not continued, and as of June 20, 2026, no posts, patch notes, or announcements have appeared since that date. Multiple forward-looking commitments made in earlier posts — including "more emotes coming in future" and "more [Twitch Drops] campaigns planned" — remain unaddressed. The developer has not announced a shutdown or end of development, but the prolonged silence after a previously active schedule leaves the current state of development unclear.

In Slipstream: Rogue Space, Streamers captain a massive starship and viewers are the crew. Together they explore the galaxy, fight aliens, and operate the ship in real-time. Battle through challenging rogue-like maps as a team and work together to see how long you can survive.
Captains and Crew
Play as two unique roles:- The captain, who makes key decisions, gives orders, and leads the ship. This can be a live streamer with their community or anyone bold enough to pilot a few friends into battle.

Aliens invaded and conquered our solar system. Those few earthlings that escaped have banded together on the cold edges of space, seeking to survive and exact revenge. Each run is a unique experience with dangers and rewards constantly evolving.
