Space Colony: Steam Edition launched on April 30, 2015 as a remastered version of the original 2004 game, described in its own store page as "the definitive version" of Space Colony. The game shipped as a complete, finished product with all of its content — over 80 missions across military and civilian campaigns, plus new single-player content — at launch. There are no DLC listings, no season passes, and no unreleased content announced for the title.
After launch, Firefly Studios issued a small patch on May 12, 2015 addressing minor bugs and Workshop functionality. The next developer activity for this game didn't come until March 24, 2022, when a small update added language support (Polish speech/text, Simplified Chinese text) and fixed an achievement bug, followed by a Steam Workshop fix on May 6, 2022. These are purely maintenance updates — no new gameplay content was added or announced.
The most recent news post associated with the game (January 21, 2025) is a cross-promotion announcement for Stronghold Crusader: Definitive Edition, Firefly Studios' separate title — it contains no information about Space Colony development.
