Evaluation
Space Pirate Trainer launched its full 1.0 release on October 12, 2017, after a period of Early Access development beginning in April 2016. The 1.0 launch added a substantial amount of new content including new enemies, turrets, boss fights, achievements, and unlockable skins.
Following the 1.0 release, the developer shipped a handful of feature patches — most notably the 1.1 update on June 27, 2019, which added Valve Index support, SteamVR 2.0 controller mapping, and numerous bug fixes accumulated while porting the game to PlayStation VR and Oculus Quest. That post also briefly mentioned working on "a secret project," but no further announcements or updates have followed it. There is no indication the "secret project" was ever publicly revealed as content for this game, and it is now nearly 7 years since that last communication with no follow-up.
There are no unreleased DLC entries in the store listing, no roadmap or announced future content, and no developer posts after June 27, 2019. The game's store description describes it as a complete arcade-style VR experience. The 1.1 update represents the last meaningful developer communication and content addition, and the pattern of activity since then strongly suggests development has concluded. The game launched as a finished arcade experience and has received no updates since June 2019.
