Evaluation

Split Brain launched on December 5, 2024 as a complete asymmetrical co-op puzzle game. Following launch, the developer (Kusa Games) shipped several patches through January 2025 addressing bugs, adding translations, and making quality-of-life improvements — all consistent with post-launch maintenance for a finished product. On June 10, 2025, the developer posted a studio update explicitly stating "as for Split Brain, we're still listening to feedback on the game, and of course we're not done with it yet." While this hinted at continued attention to the game, no specific new content was announced, and the same post focused primarily on introducing their new studio and a separate game (Pizza Deathlivery). By May 2026, the developer had moved firmly into their next project: they announced Split Brain Samsara — described as a "spiritual sequel" to Split Brain — on May 12, 2026, followed by a playable demo release on May 28, 2026. This sequel has its own Steam page and represents the studio's forward focus. There is no announced DLC, expansion, or additional content planned for the original Split Brain. The original game shipped as a self-contained experience, and the studio's energy is now directed toward the follow-up title. Split Brain is considered a complete, finished product as of its December 5, 2024 release date.
