S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat originally launched on February 11, 2010 as a complete, standalone game with no post-launch content cycle. On May 20, 2025, GSC Game World released the "S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone Trilogy Enhanced Edition," which upgrades all three classic S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games — including Call of Pripyat — with improved graphics (godrays, screen space reflections, global illumination), updated textures and models, 4K cinematics, Steam Deck support, Steam Workshop mod integration, cloud saves, achievements, and full gamepad support. Owners of the original game received the Enhanced Edition as a free upgrade. This Enhanced Edition release represents the definitive package for this title. The news posts about S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 relate to an entirely separate, new game in the franchise, not additional content for Call of Pripyat. No further content for Call of Pripyat has been announced.

Emissions of destructive energy flood it day by day, as its heartlands are finally free to explore for the most experienced and brazen ones. So set your path through swampy Zaton, industrial zones of the "Jupiter" plant, the ghost town of Pripyat, and the top secret catacombs in which no stalker's foot has set since the catastrophe.
The Zone becomes even more unpredictable and dangerous, distorting the fabric of reality with its energy. You'll have to seek shelter during abrupt emissions and show great ingenuity in order to deal with the new types of anomalies.
