Evaluation
Star Chronicles: Delta Quadrant launched on July 7, 2015. In the weeks following launch, Alister Software was actively patching the game — fixing bugs (versions 1.23 and 1.24 on July 7–9, 2015) and shipping feature updates (versions 1.25 and 1.27 in August–September 2015). The last development activity for Delta Quadrant itself appears to be the version 1.27 beta patch on September 11, 2015. After that point, the developer's news posts shifted away from Delta Quadrant entirely: a March 2016 post announced a second, unrelated game (Catch a Falling Star); a March 2017 post promoted a Greenlight title called Space Rocks; and an April 2017 post promoted a Kickstarter for yet another new game, Sol Ni Koro. None of these posts reference any planned updates or future content for Delta Quadrant. No DLC was ever listed, no roadmap was ever published, and no developer statement promises future content. The store description frames the game as a self-contained, intentionally modest sci-fi title ("intended as a fun little sci-fi title, not too hardcore or difficult"), consistent with a game that launched as a complete package. The developer has moved on to other projects, and Delta Quadrant has received no updates since September 2015. The game is complete as originally shipped.

Piloting a weak exploration ship, you are in search for a new homeworld for your people - that is, until you are lured into a trap by the Dark Order. This has you end up deep in unknown enemy space, with no allies or friends. Alone.

Your attempt to escape will put you in the path of numerous enemies. Fight to survive, gain experience, level up and get improved weapons and equipment. You will die, but you will also get stronger!

As you gain experience and level up, your ship gets stronger (improved hull strength, bigger shield capacity and more powerful engines), and you'll get skill points to help improve various aspects of your ship.
