Evaluation

Star Nomad 2 launched on December 14, 2015 and received a series of free content updates and patches through mid-2016, including new ships, a storage hangar system, Steam Achievements, and ports to iOS (June 1, 2016) and Android (July 19, 2016). The developer, Huy Phan, was actively engaged with the game through this period. By the end of 2016, the developer had publicly moved on. In the December 22, 2016 holiday post, Huy explicitly stated he was "currently working on the next game project, Nuclear Nomad," signaling that active development on Star Nomad 2 had concluded. This was followed by a December 14, 2018 announcement introducing yet another new game — "Nomads of the Fallen Star" — confirming the developer had been focused elsewhere for roughly two years. There are no unreleased DLC entries, no roadmap or outstanding promises for Star Nomad 2, and no developer communications about the game since December 2016. The last meaningful content additions were the mobile platform releases in mid-2016. The game shipped as a complete, self-contained experience and has received no major content since. No further updates are expected.
Evidence
Developer announces a brand new game, Nomads of the Fallen Star, set in the Star Nomad 2 universe but a wholly separate project. No mention of any further updates to Star Nomad 2.
