Evaluation

STAR WARS Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith is a classic expansion pack originally released by LucasArts in 1998. It shipped as a complete, self-contained product — a standalone expansion to Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II — with no post-launch content cycle. The game was brought to Steam on September 16, 2009. Since arriving on Steam, LucasArts issued two maintenance-focused patches in 2017: one in June addressing Windows 10 compatibility and adding Xbox 360 controller support and cloud saves, and one in August fixing a music playback issue on Windows 10. Both patches were purely about keeping the classic game functional on modern hardware — neither introduced new story content, expansions, or future content plans. The last developer communication was on August 4, 2017. There has been no developer activity since that date, and no new content of any kind has ever been announced. The game's store description describes the original 1998 expansion's feature set with no mention of planned additions. This is a complete, finished product that has been available in its final form since its original release.

About this game

"I have chosen my destiny, and it lies here..." - Kyle Katarn
It is five years after Kyle's victory over the seven dark Jedi. Invading Imperial forces advance upon a quiet Rebel outpost, interrupting Kyle's training of a brave new Jedi, Mara Jade. First introduced in Timothy Zahn's award-winning Star Wars novel, Heir to the Empire, Mara Jade blends her past experiences as a one time smuggler and Emperor's Hand with her apprenticeship as a Jedi Knight. Armed with four new weapons and five new Force powers, Mara must secure supplies desperately needed by the New Republic while Kyle, believing it a part of his destiny, pursues the secret treasures shrouded in an ancient Sith temple.
Can the New Republic's boldest female Jedi protect the Rebel base, negotiate with Ka'Pa the Hutt, then ward off a phalanx of enemies?
Will the ancient secrets of the Sith unleash new powers?
Are Kyle and Mara strong enough to resist the temptations of the dark side, or will new entanglements seduce them?
