Evaluation
STAR WARS™ - X-Wing Special Edition is a re-release of the classic 1993 space combat game, bundling the base game and its two original expansions (Imperial Pursuit and B-Wing) in both their DOS and Windows versions. It launched on Steam on April 28, 2015 as a complete package — all content was included from day one with no post-launch expansions or DLC planned or delivered.
Since launch, the developer has posted only maintenance updates: a Windows 10 compatibility patch on May 3, 2016, a Mac/performance patch on March 20, 2018, a 64-bit Mac OS support patch on April 6, 2020, and a music bug fix on March 31, 2021. None of these introduced new content — they were purely compatibility and bug-fix updates to keep the classic game running on modern systems. The most recent developer communication was on March 31, 2021.
The store description explicitly lists all included content as a complete bundle ("includes X-Wing and all Tour of Duty expansions"). There are no unreleased DLC items, no roadmap, and no developer statements suggesting future content. This game shipped as a finished, self-contained product.
Evidence
Store description explicitly states the game includes X-Wing and all Tour of Duty expansions (Imperial Pursuit and B-Wing) in both 1993 and 1998 versions — presented as a complete package at launch.
Hotfix for missing music during missions on the remastered version. Last developer communication on record. No new content.
