Evaluation

Static Dread: The Lighthouse launched on August 6, 2025. All three DLC items (Supporter Pack, Digital Art Collection, and Soundtrack) shipped on launch day. Following release, the developer actively patched the game: Patch 1.1 on September 22, 2025 reworked game balance and improved localization, and Patch 1.2 on March 6, 2026 added new ending illustrations, expanded character storylines, additional dialogues, and improved sound design. The most decisive recent development is the August 14, 2026 release of Static Dread: The Submarine — a fully separate game set in the same universe, now available for purchase on Steam. The developer's thank-you post for The Submarine's launch makes no mention of further updates to The Lighthouse. The December 2025 devlog, which was the last developer post to discuss The Lighthouse's future, noted Patch 1.2 as the planned update — and that patch shipped in March 2026. With Patch 1.2 delivered, no unreleased DLC on the store, no announced future content for The Lighthouse specifically, and the developer's focus having clearly shifted to The Submarine as a standalone release, The Lighthouse appears to be content-complete as of March 6, 2026. The broader Static Dread universe continues, but The Submarine is its own separate product — not additional content for this game.
Evidence
Static Dread: The Submarine launched as a separate standalone game. The post thanks supporters and testers but makes no mention of further updates planned for The Lighthouse.

About this game

  • Mesmerizing tales of the sea

  • Strange characters

  • An atmosphere of unknowable horror

  • Multiple endings

***

In the aftermath of a global cataclysm, the harbor authorities reactivated an ancient lighthouse, hoping to keep the seas navigable amidst the growing chaos. A lone keeper is dispatched to the forsaken island, tasked with manning the beacon. The fate of passing vessels and the nearby town now rests in his hands. Far away, a wife and daughter wait for his return.

***

Each night, his duties grow more perilous. Mariners report encounters with creatures beyond the reach of science. Ships drift back from distant waters - empty, their crews vanished without a trace. In the island’s fishing village, the locals whisper prayers to sea gods and perform rituals to raise the dead.

Will the keeper preserve his sanity, protect those he loves, and guide the vessels entrusted to him through the abyss? Or will he, too, be lost to the dark tides gathering beneath the surface of the world?
