Evaluation

SteamWorld Build launched on December 1, 2023 and received a healthy post-launch content schedule. Within days of launch, the developer shipped a free holiday-themed update ("Jingle Bolts", December 8, 2023), followed by a paid Mechanized DLC (April 4, 2024), and a series of free seasonal updates: Mechanical Meadows (March 21, 2024), Crash Site (May 23, 2024), a Midsommar summer update (June 13, 2024), Skull Valley (August 22, 2024), and finally Steam Fright (October 10, 2024). Crucially, the Steam Fright post explicitly states: "Our final seasonal content is here" and identifies it as "our last of the 8 maps." This is a direct developer statement that the planned seasonal update program has concluded. Both DLC entries in the store are marked as released, and no new content has been announced since October 2024. The most recent developer communication (June 24, 2025) was a sale announcement with no mention of future content for SteamWorld Build specifically. The game shipped everything it planned: eight seasonal maps, a paid expansion, and a soundtrack. The developer clearly communicated that Steam Fright was the final chapter of this content plan. The game is now complete.
Evidence
The Steam Fright update is described as 'our final seasonal content' and delivers 'our last of the 8 maps,' explicitly concluding the post-launch seasonal update program.
