Stranded Sails launched on October 17, 2019 and received two substantial post-launch content updates: the Foundation Update (July 13, 2020), which added a decoration system, relationship mechanics, new activities, collectibles, and outfits, and the Completion Update 1.4 (December 15, 2020), which added a personal shack, overhauled the crew stew system, new relationships with the Parrot and Ancestor, and additional outfits. The name "Completion Update" and its focus on tying up loose ends strongly signals that the developer considered this the final major content pass for the game. After December 15, 2020, all developer communications on this game's Steam page shifted entirely to promoting other titles — Spells & Secrets (announced April 2022, launched November 2023), Sugardew Island (announced January 2024), and Lou's Lagoon (re-announced June 2024). None of these posts indicate any further content planned for Stranded Sails. The developer and publisher have clearly moved on to new projects. The game launched as a complete package and received two rounds of post-launch improvements before the developer explicitly wrapped up development with the aptly named Completion Update.

Story

Uncover the mystery of the Cursed Islands and lift their curse, guided by a linear quest line. Complete your adventure by leaving the islands or convincing your crew to stay!

Open World

Complete island activities like "Monkey Chase" and "Watchful Seagulls" to acquire shiny plunder. Find fishing spots all over the islands and catch fish to cook especially energizing meals! Find and spend key shards at ancient portal stones to fast travel to locations you have visited before.

Camp

Plant seeds you find while exploring to farm crops and harvest cooking ingredients. Discover new cooking recipes in a puzzle-like minigame. Combine different components at your workbench to craft new items. Expand your camp by building various structures provided by your crew as a reward for the stew.

Crew

Decorate the shacks of your crew members to improve your relationship with them and earn powerful perks. Find gifts while exploring and give them to your crew to unlock new decorations. Provide stew for the crew and receive useful rewards like tool upgrades, farm expansions and more!
