Styx: Shards of Darkness launched on March 14, 2017 as a complete, standalone stealth adventure. Its only DLC — the Akenash Set cosmetic pack — was released on the same day as the game itself. No additional DLC was ever announced or released after launch, and the developer has made no post-launch content commitments for this title. All developer communications visible in the news feed are focused entirely on the sequel, Styx: Blades of Greed, which launched on February 19, 2026. The sustained promotional activity for that new game — spanning from June 2025 through February 2026 — confirms that Cyanide Studio has fully moved on from Shards of Darkness. The sequel even picks up the story directly after the cliffhanger ending of Shards of Darkness, further cementing that this game's narrative chapter is closed. Shards of Darkness launched as a finished product with a single cosmetic DLC on day one and no post-launch content cycle. It is complete as originally shipped.
