Super Blood Hockey launched on August 17, 2017 and received several post-launch updates, including a major Franchise Mode expansion that was developed through 2018 and into early 2019. On January 29, 2019, the developer confirmed that new content development for the game was being paused to focus on console ports, and that after those releases, they would "assess the viability of future content updates" — language that signals the end of active content planning rather than a continuation of it. The developer's subsequent communications have focused on other projects entirely. In August 2021, they announced a separate game called Terror of Hemasaurus. On March 13, 2025, they teased a sequel or spinoff, and on December 7, 2025, they formally announced that sequel: Super Blood Hockey: Rogue Manager, a new standalone game on its own Steam page. This confirms the developer has moved on from Super Blood Hockey itself. There are no unreleased DLC entries, no announced future content for the base game, and no developer communication suggesting further updates to Super Blood Hockey are planned. The single DLC (the original soundtrack) shipped on release day. The game appears to have concluded its content cycle with the Franchise Mode update, and the developer's energy is now directed toward the sequel.
