Super Pilot

Super Pilot is a futuristic arcade racer currently in Early Access, where it has been since its September 17, 2018 release. The developer (a very small, two-person studio) has continued to ship meaningful updates over the years: major content releases arrived in December 2018, March 2020, April 2021, October 2021, May 2022, and most recently March 2024 (version 0.9.0, which added online multiplayer and tunnels). A smaller feature patch followed in September 2024, adding new music and a lava surface type. In the March 2024 update post, the developer was transparent about the game's situation: they work on it in their spare time around day jobs and family life, and do not earn much money from it. They outlined what the 1.0 release will include — new environments, new music, updated official tracks, a vehicle balancing pass, and AI improvements — but explicitly stated they cannot commit to any timeline. The last developer communication of any kind was the September 23, 2024 patch. There have been no posts, updates, or announcements since then. Given that previous gaps between major updates have ranged from roughly 6 to 18 months, the silence since September 2024 is becoming extended, especially in the context of the developer's candid admission about limited bandwidth. The planned 1.0 content has been stated but no progress toward it has been communicated since that March 2024 post. This combination — announced content, a developer team with limited capacity, and no communication since September 23, 2024 — creates genuine uncertainty about when or whether the 1.0 update will arrive.
