Evaluation

Svarog's Dream launched on December 4, 2023, and received one major paid expansion — Return of the Old Gods — on January 9, 2025, which added a new story path, new areas, classes, mechanics, and items. Following the expansion's release, the developer issued a series of substantial balance and polish patches through early 2025. On February 15, 2025, the developer formally declared the game complete, stating: "From our perspective, the game is complete and in a good place. In the period ahead, the game will not receive new content updates or major reworks." This was reinforced on September 29, 2025, when the developer reiterated that no major updates were planned going forward and confirmed work had begun on an entirely new RPG title. On April 3, 2026, the developer published a studio roadmap post announcing two new games and a sequel (Svarog's Dream 2), while explicitly reaffirming that "the game is now complete." They noted one small in-game community event was planned (a "Wall of Names" scavenger hunt), which launched on May 29, 2026 — this is a limited-time community activity, not a content update. The developer described it as "one last" event of this kind, consistent with their position that the game is finished. With the developer having clearly and repeatedly stated that no further content is planned, and the single DLC expansion fully shipped, the game is complete as of the expansion's release date of January 9, 2025.

About this game

An Ever-changing World

In Svarog's Dream, the absolute freedom to explore the world and make decisions is yours. However, every action influences the world around you, for better or worse.

A Soul Lost Between Worlds

You start as a lost soul, inhabiting human hosts who are desperate enough to embrace you. With each death, you revisit the underworld to possess a new body from a selection of unique characters.

A Pawn in the Game of Gods

While humans wage their wars on Earth, the Gods clash against each other in the sky.

Even with their immense power, they search for a means to gain momentum in their eternal battles. All existence is bound by the threads of destiny.

Except for you.

You have the power of free will, a gift the gods will go to great lengths to persuade to their side.

The old prophecy:

"Svarog, the first god, created six worlds and fell asleep.

In his dream, he created the seventh world, Earth.

Once he wakes up, Earth will cease to exist."

Immersive Gameplay

Embrace a living, responsive world filled with emergent stories, while also experiencing over 100 handcrafted quests.

Eat, cook, sleep, craft potions, upgrade gear, buy houses, take loans, and even evade debt collectors or headhunters, among much more.

Create your own character build using abilities from 12 unique classes, and equip them with hundreds of weapons, armor pieces, and accessories.

"We took everything we loved about old-school RPGs and then added a modern twist on top of it all."
