Switch 'N' Shoot launched on October 17, 2016 as a compact, self-contained arcade game. The developer, Matt Glanville, has continued to maintain it over the years — shipping a major code rewrite in June 2018 (v1.1), adding new languages and colour palettes in May 2019 (v1.3), fixing Linux compatibility and adding Xbox D-pad support in August 2021 (v1.3.5), and applying a Unity security patch as recently as October 6, 2025. However, none of these updates introduced new game content — they were improvements and compatibility fixes to the existing game. There are no DLC listings, no announced expansions, and no roadmap for future content. The news feed shows the developer has been actively making other games (Ghost Grab 3000, Dungeon Deathball, GunSuit Guardians), with Switch 'N' Shoot serving as a complete, finished product in the background. The game launched as a finished arcade experience and has remained so throughout its life.
