SWORD x HIME launched on September 28, 2020 and received seven major content updates over its three-year post-launch life. The developer, Kazuya (Red Dragonfly / 赤いトンボ), explicitly announced the end of content development twice.
First, on April 18, 2023, the artist posted a farewell message stating: "All good things must come to an end. This time will be the last major update... It's time to put an end to this game." This was followed by the actual seventh major update on November 18, 2023, which shipped the final planned content including new heroines, hairstyles, outfits, and a large batch of new H-actions. The developer's note accompanying that update confirmed: "This seventh major update will be our last content update for this game. Hereafter, we will only focus on bug fixes and shift our resources to developing new projects."
Since that final content update, the developer has moved on to a new title called Snow x Hime (formerly DarkDragonKnight), posting development journals about it in May 2024, June 2025, and October 2025. A feature patch (version 1.12.5) was released on May 5, 2024, delivering bug fixes and Steam Input support — consistent with the developer's stated maintenance-only commitment. No new content for SWORD x HIME has been announced or shipped since November 18, 2023.
The game's store description does mention that "various sex themes such as 3P and restraint will be added in the future," but this legacy copy predates the explicit developer statements ending content development and should not be read as a current commitment. The developer's own direct statements supersede outdated store copy.
The game is complete. Anyone waiting for all content would have been done on November 18, 2023.
