Tentacular

Tentacular launched on March 24, 2022 as a VR physics puzzler. After launch, the developer (Firepunchd Games) delivered a substantial post-launch update history. A Comfort & Clarity patch on June 29, 2022 addressed player feedback and quality-of-life improvements. The developer then spent roughly a year and a half building the Island Builder Expansion, a major free content update that shipped on July 28–29, 2024, adding a full island creation sandbox mode, new side quests, a boss battle, a cheat terminal, and more. This was followed on December 17, 2024 by another major free update called Playgrounds, which expanded the sandbox further with 400 object types, Steam Workshop support (added December 20, 2024), destruction mode, and a standalone Playgrounds demo app. A minor bug fix patch on March 11, 2025 addressed a rare crash and missing Cyrillic fonts. The store description explicitly highlights the Island Builder Expansion as a feature ("free for all Tentacular owners"), confirming it has shipped. No unreleased DLC appears in the store listing — the only DLC is the soundtrack, which released in May 2022. The developer has not announced any additional content beyond what has already shipped, and the most recent post (March 11, 2025) is routine maintenance. With two major expansions now delivered and no outstanding commitments or roadmap pointing to further content, the game appears to be content-complete as of December 17, 2024 (the Playgrounds release).
