Evaluation
The Classrooms has been in Early Access since October 28, 2022, and remains actively and robustly developed. Since launch, the developer (Xefier Games) has shipped seven major content updates, adding entirely new levels (Bathrooms, Library, Poolrooms, Playrooms, Kidrooms), new entities, game modes, and systemic overhauls at a consistent cadence — roughly every 4–8 months for major releases, with steady feature patches and bug fixes in between.
The most recent major update arrived on June 1, 2026, introducing Tape 8 to Story Mode and Endless Mode, a new entity (ARC-1666), a new anomalous object, six new items, and new gameplay systems. That same update included a preview of Tape 9, signaling further story content on the way.
Beyond that, the developer announced in December 2024 that a Multiplayer Mode is actively in development, with more details promised in the months ahead. The Endless Descent mode, launched in October 2025, was explicitly described as a solo preview before a planned multiplayer expansion. The ARC Lab hub within that mode also has stated future upgrade plans.
The game is clearly mid-development with multiple announced and previewed features still to come. There is no indication the developer has concluded or is winding down work — quite the opposite.
Evidence
Tape 8 added to Story and Endless modes, new entity ARC-1666, new anomalous object, 6 new items, and a preview of Tape 9 — indicating more story content is forthcoming.
Endless Descent beta launched as a solo preview, with multiplayer expansion and ARC Lab upgrades explicitly planned for the future.
