The Deer is a small educational children's game that released on March 28, 2016. It has received occasional updates over the years, including a Christmas-themed feature patch in December 2015 (pre-launch) and a 2025 update cycle.
On August 6, 2025, the developer posted an announcement confirming that an update featuring improved graphics and bug fixes was coming "next month" (September 2025), and that an enhanced edition of the game was planned for Nintendo Switch 2. However, as of June 27, 2026, no follow-up post has appeared on the store confirming that either the update or the Switch 2 edition was actually released. The developer has been silent since that August 2025 post.
Because the developer made a specific, time-bound promise (September 2025) and then went quiet well beyond that window with no confirmation of delivery, the status of those announced updates remains unresolved.
