Kindergarten

Kindergarten launched out of Early Access on June 15, 2017. Since then, the developer's post-launch activity has been focused entirely on bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements — no new story content, characters, or gameplay expansions have been added to the game itself. The most notable post-launch activity came in late 2022 and early 2023, when the developer ported both Kindergarten and its sequel to Nintendo Switch as the "Buddy Edition." On November 30, 2022, they announced that all improvements made during the Switch conversion would be backported to the Steam versions. This resulted in a wave of patches (v2.01 through v2.05) between November 2022 and January 31, 2023, fixing dialogue bugs, cloud save issues, localization problems, and speedrunning-related exploits. The most recent developer communication was the v2.05 patch on January 31, 2023. Since that date, there have been no further announcements, patches, or developer posts of any kind. The 2019 announcement of Kindergarten 2 included a brief tease of updates coming to the original game "later in 2019," but no substantial content additions ever materialized beyond maintenance patches. There is no announced DLC, no roadmap, and no unreleased content listed on the store. The game's store description is consistent with a complete, self-contained puzzle adventure experience. Kindergarten appears to be a finished product. The developer's last meaningful update cycle concluded in January 2023 with the completion of the Switch backport improvements, and no further development activity has been signaled.
