The Hex is a narrative indie game by Daniel Mullins Games that launched on October 16, 2018 as a complete, self-contained experience. All six original soundtrack DLC packs were released on October 22, 2018 — just days after launch — completing the planned content package. There has been no post-launch story content, expansions, or announced future content of any kind.
Post-launch activity has been limited to localization patches: Dutch and Japanese translations were added in May 2022, a Simplified Chinese localization arrived in March 2024, and a minor Chinese/Japanese localization refinement was published in October 2025. These are maintenance and accessibility updates, not new game content.
In December 2023, Daniel Mullins announced his next game, Panda Circus, explicitly framing it as the studio's next project and thanking players of The Hex — a clear signal that The Hex's development chapter is closed and the developer has moved on. The game launched as a finished product and has received no content additions beyond its day-one soundtrack DLC.

In a creaky old tavern, in a forgotten corner of the video game universe, a storm is raging. The barkeep gets a patchy phone call. It's hard to tell what the caller is saying, but this much is clear: someone in The Six Pint Inn is planning a murder.
There are six patrons; all of them are video game protagonists trying to escape their past... But The Six Pint Inn has a way of bringing back old memories. Each flashback plays out in an entirely different genre, sometimes blending multiple. By exploring these memories you may discover the identity of the murderer... or you may learn much darker secrets.
