The Druid

The Druid is a free-to-play 2D roguelike platformer developed as a university capstone project by NAO Studios, released on May 24, 2023. Following launch, the team published a series of bug fix patches through July 8, 2023, addressing crashes, AI issues, and balance problems — consistent with a small student team polishing their shipped product. In a June 13, 2023 post, the developers expressed that they were "looking forward to improving the game and expect to keep developing The Druid even further with more content coming in the future." A July 8, 2023 patch note also mentioned aspirations to bring MacOS/Linux support and to "bring to life some early scrapped content." However, these were casual, unspecific remarks — not formal announcements of planned DLC or a development roadmap. No named content, expansion, or update has ever been announced or listed on the store. After July 8, 2023, there have been no further developer communications of any kind. That is nearly three full years of silence as of today (June 21, 2026). Given that the game was a university project with no post-launch content cadence beyond bug fixes, and that the vague aspirations expressed in mid-2023 were never followed up on, the game is best understood as a complete, finished product. The store description itself notes it was made as a degree project, reinforcing that it launched as a self-contained experience.
