The King's Bird

The King's Bird launched on August 23, 2018 and has received two major content updates over its lifetime. Patch 1.2 (February 12, 2019) added 13 new levels, replays, and localization support. Patch 1.3 (December 21, 2023) — released after a years-long gap — delivered a large collection of quality-of-life improvements, new community features (including ghost replays and a hidden creative door), and additional polish. A follow-up bug fix patch shipped on January 4, 2024. The developer's message accompanying Patch 1.3 reads as a retrospective note ("it's been a while") with thanks to the community, rather than a signal of ongoing development plans. No future content has been announced, no unreleased DLC exists on the store (the only DLC is the Original Soundtrack, released the day after launch), and there has been no developer communication since January 4, 2024. The two major content updates are separated by nearly five years, which does not constitute a sustained or predictable release cadence. Given the absence of any announced future content and the long silence following what appears to be a concluding patch, the game is best understood as a complete, finished product as of January 4, 2024.
