The Lost Mythologies

The Lost Mythologies is a free student project released on January 28, 2016 by Basaltic Studio, a small team of developers completing mandatory military service in Taiwan. The developers were transparent from the start: the game is a 15–30 minute single-player demo, released for free because they didn't feel it was commercially viable. They explicitly stated on January 23, 2016 that "in our current situation it is impossible to make this into a full game" and that "this game will stay as it is." Following launch, the team pushed a couple of quick patches to add English language support, with the last update on February 3, 2016 confirming English UI was live. That post also acknowledged ongoing localization issues but noted the team was already winding down due to military service obligations and financial constraints. There have been no developer communications of any kind since February 3, 2016. The developers' own words make the content status clear: this game launched as a finished (if small) product with no plans for expansion. The studio intended to pursue a future, separate project once they completed military service and had sufficient resources — but that is a different game, not additional content for this one. The game is complete as released.
